 | Faridkot 3rd Dec.:- 65th National Games were held at Delhi. Daneshwar Singh of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot took part in 82 kg Greco-Roman (under-19) category. He successfully cleared all the preliminary rounds and entered the final. In the final bout he defeated his opponent and won the Gold Medal. Displaying his strength and fortitude he did not lose a single point in all the bouts and dominated his opponents in all the contests. On his arrival at the School he was honoured by Director S. Sports Department Punjab organized Handball Matches for Girls (under 18) at Shri Muktsar Sahib, under Mission Tandrust Punjab. 4 Girls of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot namely Gurleen Kaur, Gurleen Kaur Sandhu, Mehakpreet Kaur and Jasmeen Kaur represented District Handball Team of District Faridkot. Faridkot team defeated the Handball team of District Moga with a difference of 26-12 score. In the Semi-final the team defeated the Team of Mohali with a close margin of 24-22. In the final match District Faridkot team defeated the Handball Team of District Ropar by scoring 21 goals against 18 scored by their opponents. Daneswar Singh took part in 82 kg weight category of 19 years age group. In the final boat he defeated his opponent from Mohali and won the Gold medal. Jasnoor Kaur took part in 50 kg weight category of 17 years age group. She defeated her opponents in the preliminary round and semi-final. She won silver medal. Kamal took part in 54 kg weight category of 14 years age group. In the final boat she defeated her opponent from Ferozepur and won the Gold medal. She had also won silver medal at Roop Nagar during the Games organized by the Sports Department Punjab. On their arrival at the School the medal winners were honoured by Director S. Four Girls of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot namely Jashanpreet Kaur, Mansi, Suneha and Gurnoor Kaur represented the Cricket (19 years) Girls Team of District Faridkot at the 65th State School Games. The team successfully won their preliminary round matches and advanced to the finals. The final match was played between the teams of District Faridkot and District Jalandhar. The Team of District Jalandhar batted first and they set a target of 90 runs for Faridkot team. In reply the District Faridkot team scored 94 runs in 11.2 overs and won the Gold medal. Jashanpreet Kaur DPS Faridkot scored 35 runs in 4.1 overs and contributed in the teams’ win. Punjab State Games (Boys Under-18) were held at Ferozepur under Mission Tandrust Punjab by the Sport Department Punjab to commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Football team of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot represented District Faridkot Football team in the Games. 20 Football Teams from different Districts of Punjab took part in the Games. District Faridkot team won their preliminary match against the team of District Jalandhar. In the quarter final match the team defeated Football team of District Amritsar. In their last match, District Faridkot team defeated the Football team of Mohali and won the bronze trophy.  | Faridkot Ist Oct., 2019. District Cricket Tournament was held at Cricket Ground of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot. Boys(Under-19) Cricket Team of DPS Faridkot took part in this tournament. The players played consistently well and won all their matches in the preliminary rounds and reached the finals. The School team represented Tehna Zone. The final Match was played between the teams of Tehna Zone and Golewala Zone. Batting first DPS Faridkot Team player Gurbir Singh scored 53 runs in 25 balls, Anubhav Basu scored 7 runs in 4 balls and Simran Singh Gharu scored 10 runs in 10 balls. The team scored 80 runs in 10 over match. Chasing the target of 80 runs, the Opposite team of Golewala Zone could score only 66 runs. With this victory in the final, DPS Faridkot team won the Gold Medal. The players of the winning team were honoured by Director S. Gurcharan Singh & Principal Madam Neeru Gandhi.  | Naitik Sikhya Examination was conducted by the Sikh Missionary College Ludhiana in Nov., 2018. Students from different parts of Punjab took part in this Examination. Showing keen interest in the subject of Naitik Sikhya, 119 students of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot took the Examination. The results of the Examination were declared recently. 25 students of Classes V to VIII won maximum medals in the region. Final match was played between the Cricket team of Golewala Zone and Cricket Team of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot. Golewala Zone Team batted first and scored 71 runs in 10 overs. Team Captain of DPS Faridkot team Gurtej Singh Maur got two wickets in two overs. Similarly Keshav Mittal also got two wickets in two overs. Vansh Bansal and Harbans Singh got one wicket each in two overs. Chasing the target of 71 runs, the DPS Faridkot team scored 73 runs and won the match and the Gold Medal. Abhijit Singh Sodhi and Anmol Sikri of DPS Faridkot scored 27 runs (in 17 balls) and 30 runs (in 18 balls) respectively. Punjab Sports Department organized State Level Judo Championship at Ludhiana to commemorate the 550 th Birth Anniversary of Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Judo Players of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot also took part in this Championship. Jai Singh successfully cleared all the preliminary rounds and reached the finals by defeating his opponents from Jalandhar, Ropar and Hoshiarpur. In the final bout he defeated his opponent from Ludhiana and won Gold Medal in 50 kg weight category. Dalwinder Singh defeated his opponents from Amritsar, Taran Taran and Jalandhar and won bronze medal in the semi-final bout of 30 Kg weight category. The winners were honored by Director S. Gurcharan Singh and Principal Mrs. Neeru Gandhi on their arrival at the School. VIII won the Gold Medals. Dev Ashish Singh of Std.-XI and Anusha of Std.-IX were awarded Merit certificates.  | A seminar to sensitize the students about menstruation was organized in the school examination hall for the girl students of Dasmesh Public School , Faridkot. Ms Poornima Sharma, education and NGO relation officer from NINE company delivered a lecture to the girls and advised them regarding how to use and dispose off the sanitary pads. She openly talked to the students on the taboos, misconceptions, blind beliefs, negative attitudes that surround the subject of menstruation in India. The seminar was on Menstrual health management with the speaker touching on topics such as good menstrual hygiene practices such as use of sanitary napkins, washing and cleaning , how to dispose off sanitary pads, followed by precautions to be taken during periods and dietary habits, so as to enable them to lead a healthy life in future. The seminar recognized the very physiological changes that remained suppress for generations among females but the current discussion emphasized on the dignity, freedom and respect of women in society. |
 | A Seminar on the topic ‘Real Education’ was organized by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle at Dasmesh Public School, Faridkot. The Seminar was presided over by Principal Mrs. Neeru Gandhi. Sh. Kuldeep Singh, Regional Secretary of GGSSC represented his Organization. About 500 students and Teachers attended the seminar with keen interest. Mr. Gurdeep Singh started the proceedings. He apprised the students about the Moral Science Examination to be held on August 20, 2019. He stated that this Examination would be dedicated to the 550th Birthday Celebrations of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. S. Hardeep Singh, the Moral Science teacher of the School highlighted the achievements of the Dasmeshians in debate, ‘Gurbani Recitation’ and ‘Kanth a Gurbani’ Competitions. Power Point slide show was presented by Dr. Karanjit Singh on the theme ‘Real Education Makes career and teaches way of Living’. He said. “Doing service to humanity, seeking betterment of humanity and thinking betterment of humanity, is the real education.” It induces in us the feeling of welfare of humanity’ & works wonders. He also donated a set a religious books for the School Library. In his address to the students he asserted that in the name of development and smart work, we are forgetting the old values. He expressed his satisfaction over programs chalked out by the School from time to time in imparting moral science education to the Students for inculcating in them good moral qualities for their proper development. He further apprised that the students of DPS Faridkot always excel in the Religious, Moral Science and other Examinations. Overall it was it was a useful exercise. |

Jagvijay Partap Singh Sekhon (ISSF) took part in Youth, Junior and Senior Categories and won three Gold medals. Ibadat Sekhon won two silver medals in the Junior and Senior category. Ishreet Kaur of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot participated in 76 kg weight category. On her way to the finals she defeated wrestler of Moga, Taran Taran and Amritsar districts. She won the silver medal in 76kg weight category.  | February 18, 2019- Dasmesh Public School, Faridkot conducted a seminar for the girls on INCEST & ABUSE - a scary reality which remains.
Age was never a deterant for such children and most of them go unreported. Most commonly, incest abuse occurs to children between 8 to 12 years of age. Sex being always considered a taboo, the matter is hushed up leaving the victim guilt ridden, depressed and ashamed for years.Hence, it is important to spread awareness in adolescents and teenagers about the danger from the most unexpected people around us.
With a view to generate awareness and sensitive the young minds, Mrs Anupma Gagneja, who is running an NGO, was invited to initiate a discourse on this sensitive topic.
Speaking on this occasion Principal Madam Neeru Gandhi apprised the girls about subject and made children feel comfortable, reiterating not to consider the discussion on Sex abuse, sexual assault and molestation a taboo.
Girls listened to Mrs Anupama Gagneja with rapt attention when she spoke. She said that Incest abuse can happen any where in all type of homes, families, neighborhood, schools and communities. She insisted that children must trust their instincts and gut feeling. When anyone makes advances, say No, BIG NO. Trust your sixth sense.
She laid stress that the victims, be it you or anyone you know, must speak about it to any trusted person and learn to protect and safeguard him/herself.
The programme concluded by a vote of thanks by the teachers and the gratitude to the guest for generating awareness and torching such a crucial topic. |

State Level Girls (Under-18) Football Tournament was organized at Dasmesh Public School Faridkot from 28th to 30th of January, 2019. Teams from different districts participated in this Tournament which was organized by the Punjab Sports Department and Punjab State Sports Council under the Mission Tandrust Punjab. The Girls Football Teams (Under-18) of District Barnala, SAS Nagar Mohali and Shri Amritsar Sahib occupied the podium as Winners, runner up and second runner up respectively. The closing ceremony of this tournament was presided over as Chief Guest by Principal DPS Faridkot Madam Neeru Gandhi. She presented the medals and prizes to the winners. The District Sports Officer thanked the management of DPS Faridkot, Sports Manager Mr. Jugraj Singh and Football Coach of DPS Faridkot Mr. Mandeep Singh for cooperation in making the tournament a success. |

His selection for Punjab team has been made on the basis of his performance at the 64th National Games held at Jamnagar Gujarat. He scored 65 runs from 33 balls against Rajasthan and begged the MAN OF THE MATCH award while representing Punjab Cricket team (under 17). He scored 60 runs from 30 balls against Uttar Pradesh. Harsimran Singh Brar and Gurtej Singh Maur ace Cricket Players of DPS Faridkot have been appointed Captain and Vice-Captain of the team respectively. Mr. Jugraj Singh Maan, Cricket Coach of DPS Faridkot is accompanying the team as its Coach whereas Mr. Kamaljit Singh of Patiala is leading the team as its Manager. On the eve of departure of the 16 Member team for Jamnagar, the players were given a rousing farewell at DPS Faridkot, the venue of the State Cricket Camp. On this occasion Director S. Gurcharn Singh, Principal Madam Neeru Gandhi, Principal Mr. Apurav Devgan, Mr. Tejinder Singh A.I.G. (Pb.), Prof. S. S. Cricket Team of Dasmesh Public School Faridkot has won the Inter District Cricket (Boys under 17) Gold Cup at the Punjab State School Games organized at Gurdaspur. Teams from 22 Districts of Punjab participated in the State Level Games. In the finals DPS Faridkot team defeated Cricket Team of Gurdaspur. Batting First DPS Faridkot boys displayed good stroke play and scored 100 runs. Gurkanwar made contribution of 65 runs while Simranjit scored 15 runs. Chasing this target the Gurdaspur team fell short of the target.and ended up at 93 runs. DPS Faridkot bowlers restricted the opponent team with tight bowling skills. Gurveer claimed 3 wickets while one each was taken by Simranjit and Harsimran. In their run up to the finals DPS Faridkot team defeated Cricket Teams of Sangrur, Muktsar and Bathinda. In all these matches the batting line of DPS Faridkot amassed big runs and gave invincible target to the opponents. On the teams arrival at the School the young cricketers were given a warm welcome. Jagvijay won gold medal in 10 Metre Pistal event. Similarly Ibadat Sekhon also won Gold Medal in 10 Metres Pistal event for Girls . Thus Dasmeshians won 10 metre Pistal Gold medals in both Boys’ and Girls’ events. 3 more Gold medals were won in Rifle Shooting Competition by Samreen Samra, Sidakbir Samra and Arjanbir Singh Brar in their respective events.  | DPS Faridkot Under 14 Cricket Team has won the Gold in the District Level Tournament by standing first in the tournament. The tournament was played in the School Cricket ground. The players played well and the team reached the finals and
won the coveted title. The players of the winning team were honoured by S. Gurcharan Singh, Direcor, DPS Schools and Madam Neeru Gandhi Principal DPS Faridkot. On this occasion Sports Officer Sh.Jugraj Singh Maan briefed that the School team represented Tehna Zone. The final Match was played with the team of Golewala Zone. The Golewala Zone won the toss and preferred to bat first. The entire team of Golewala
Zone was bowled out at 44 runs total by Tehna Zone team. In turn DPS Faridkot player Vansh scored 20 runs in 12 balls, Parmveer scored 18 runs in 15 balls and Amit Mishra scored 4 runs in 6 balls and contributed in the teams win. The team
scored the target of 45 runs in only 7 overs and won the final match. Director Sir also congratulated Team Coach Puneet Kumar for the excellent performance of the team. |

 | State Level Archery Tournament was held at Moga. Young players of DPS Faridkot participated in the tournament in under-10, under-14 and under-17 categories. In under 10
category Sahil Manchanda and Taranjit Singh won 5 silver medals and one bronze medal. In under-14 category Samar Dhawan and Gaganvir Singh Sidhu secured third position. In Under-17 Category competition, Deepak won the Gold Medal. In the Girls under-17 category Harsh Chaudhary won one silver and 2 bronze medals. On their arrival in the School, the medal winners were given warm welcome by Director S. Gurcharan Singh and Principal Madam Neeru Gandhi.

 | Environment exuding patriotic fervor filled the air when the students of Dasmesh Public School, Faridkot celebrated the auspicious day with a gamut of cultural activities and talk show by the teachers conveying what true independence means ; that how our freedom fighters struggled relentlessly to break the shackles of slavery and that they need to follow the path of righteousness.
After the flag hoisting by the Principal Mrs. Neeru Gandhi along with the Co-ordinators and staff members at the stage , all the students from classes IX, X and XI assembled in the hall to have the glimpses of the folk dances of Punjab ----Bhangra,
Giddha, Group Dances, Solo items, Speeches and so on.
The function came to an end with the distribution of sweets to the students and speech of the Principal inspiring the students and the teachers to learn to be self dependent and look at life with a sense of positivity and hope. |

 | Dasmesh Public Schoool , Faridkot the renowned institution of the northern region has organized a book Fair which is going to be a five day event from 13.11.18 to 17.11.18. The programme has been initiated with the sole purpose of inculcating reading habits among the youngsters who have got a strong addiction to TV and social networking sites. Principal Mrs. Neeru Gandhi inaugurated the exhibition. Speaking on this occasion she impressed upon the need to cultivate the habit of reading books, as they play a great role in imbibing the essential virtues of life. The Library Incharge Mrs. Neelam Sharma informed that there were approximately 1100 different titles in the exhibition. Parents have also been invited to the Book Fair, during specified hours. |

Sift Samra won Gold Medal in 19 age Group Category. Similarly Sidakbir Samra also won Gold in the Under 14 Category while Jagvijay Singh won Silver Medal in the same category.
